The ceremony or offering to Mother Earth is commonly known in the Andes as a “Pago” or “despacho” has been around for thousands of years. Since ancient times these offerings have been made to connect or create bonds between our physical plane or reality and those of other invisible realms where spirit resides. This ritual invokes the cosmic principle of AYNI or reciprocity of Creation and the energies of nature that sustain us with everything necessary for our survival. It is also an expression of our gratitude for these energies of Creation so that they continue to bring more abundance to all beings. During this ceremony, the Andean priest leading the ritual will pray for those participating for their health, work, prosperity and love. The many elements used throughout the ritual are designed to capture the energy of these prayers, which will then be given to the fire to release these energies for use.
Offerings are typically realized outside the city and require private transportation to the desired location, assigned by the Andean priest. Chinchero is an ideal space for this ritual given its altitude and spectacular views of our Apus or mountain guardians and the beautiful energy of Nature of its environment.
The timeframe for this ceremony depends on the availability of the participants and the hour that they prefer to realize the event. We recommend the mornings due to the calmness of the weather – often times the afternoon can get very windy and often rain (depending on the time of year). Transportation for the day will be round-trip.
Note: In some cases, this offering may be realized in certain hotels given that the space is approved by the Andean priest.
